Thank you to our rink builders – Without them, we wouldn’t have rinks at all. If you’d like to know the current state of our rinks, please visit Supervision (and shack opening) hours are as follows: Saturday-Sunday 10am-6PM, Monday-Friday 6PM-9PM. If you’d like to book a rink for a private skating session (min. 12 participants), please follow the link below: Hockey Day in Canada 2015Every year we participate in Canada’s National Sport (one of). This year is no different. February 14th, (yes, Valentine’s Day) our rinks will be open, shacks heated and some goodies available (while supplies last) for everyone who comes out to skate! Kids, bring your folks; folks, bring your kids. New Executive Board at BHCAWe’ve got a new executive board at the BHCA, with some new, and some, returning, faces. We’ve decided to update the site more often, as well as re-introduce a Schools Committee, and try out an Ecology/Environment Committee. Thanks to our returning board for their continued efforts, and thank you to our new board members for their eagerness. Orleans Hockey DayJoin us at Cardinal Creek’s (CC) Orléans Hockey Day in Canada to battle for the Challenge Cup! The Cardinal Creek and Navan community associations are inviting 15 girls and boys and a volunteer coach-captain from your community to play in the first ever CC Orléans Hockey Day in Canada and the largest hockey game in east Ottawa’s recent history. Who: Kids aged 4-16 are welcome to enjoy some non-contact play in a fun-filled afternoon of camaraderie, getting to know your line mates and promoting good healthy and active lifestyles while participating in Canada’s national sport – hockey will prevail! When: Saturday, February 7, noon-4 PM at the Cardinal Creek Outdoor Rink of Dreams in celebration of Hockey Day in Canada, the City of Ottawa Outdoor Rink Program and our new full-size lit hockey rink and in support of the MS Society. Our Schools Committee chair, Michael Urminsky, will be diligently watching and making sure we are prepared for anything that may be thrown our way.
