CANADA DAY 2016!

Well, well, well – Do we ever have a bunch of fun stuff again this year:

Picnic in the Park

What: Picnic in the park
When: July 1st, 10am-2pm
Where: Beacon Hill Community Centre, 2130 Radford court, behind the white church on Ogilvie road.
Why: Because we’ll have great people there, freezies, music, Tim Tierney’s famous free hot dogs (while supplies last)

FIREWORKS!

What: The 2nd best FIREWORKS show in Canada (after Parliament Hill’s show)
When: July 1st, show starts at 9:30pm, get there earlier for a better seat, a bouncy castle, and other fun stuff
Where: Loyola Park, between Shefford road and Eastvale drive
Why: Because we make cool explosions

O Canada!

Whether the Bill C-210 passes or not, the BHCA thought it would be a wonderful gesture to honour our Member of Parliament, the Honourable Mauril Belanger (who has been representing us for over 21 years), by singing his proposed version of the National Anthem. We will record it to show to him, hopefully raising his spirits while he fights ALS.

Ride to Work Day 2016!

June 20th, 2016 is International Ride to Work Day.

If you, or someone you know, has a motorcycle, please let them know to ride it to work on Monday, June 20th.

If you drive a car, please CHECK YOUR BLIND SPOTS for motorcycles all year ’round. Some motorcycle enthusiasts will ride late into the winter, and early in the spring.

Celebrate Summer Fair 2016!

We are thrilled to announce our 6^th annual Celebrate Summer event. This year will be bigger and better than ever, beginning Friday, June 24^th with a Karaoke Contest and continuing all day and into the evening on Saturday, June 25^th.

Please join me for two FREE days of food and entertainment including; pancakes, hot dogs, face painting, bouncy castles, sports demonstrations, dunk tank, magic shows, live band performances, and much more!

For the adults, our beer tent will be in full swing Friday evening and Saturday with a stellar line-up of live entertainment. This event typically draws over 5,000 residents and this year will be no exception. All proceeds benefit the Gloucester Food Cupboard and Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre located in Beacon Hill-Cyrville.

When: Friday, June 24^th & Saturday, June 25^th, 2016
Where: Earl Armstrong Arena (2020 Ogilvie)
Time: Friday: evening / Saturday: all-day
Parking: Limited but OC Transpo runs the following routes – 12 & 124.

10am-11am: FREE pancake breakfast
11am-11.30am: Magic show
11.45am-12.15pm: Official Opening
12.15pm: FREE hot dog lunch
12.15pm-12.45pm: Spring Action trampoline demo
1pm-1.30pm: VIP dunk tank

This lookbook should give filmmakers a visual understanding of all the different types of locations Ottawa has to offer. There is currently a gap in photos of residential locations that are usable for this lookbook. Should the community association have any useful pictures on file for this purpose, we would appreciate including them in our collection of pictures. The photos would need to show off the particular aesthetic of the community and be of good quality. They should not focus on any one specific building but should depict the overall feel of the neighbourhood as well as the style of architecture.
