Safe Communities Youth Conference

This may be of interest to your community. ~Patricia *—– Original Message —–* Good Afternoon, I am writing to inform you of a life altering, free conference on health and safety that people of all ages can benefit from. We are looking for your involvement for mainly promotional purposes and getting as many people to register to attend this informative event. I have included information below. Safe Communities Ottawa (SCO) are hosting our 3rd Annual Youth Safety Conference on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 08:30-14:00 at Collège Catholique Samuel-Genest, 704 Carsons Rd, Ottawa, ON K1K 2H3. SCO is a not-for-profit organization which promotes safety in our community: at work and at play. Did you know that youth and young adults are the most likely to be injured or killed on the job? Mental health and bullying issues are a major preoccupation for both young people and the parents, grandparents. Everyone is affected. Our main goal is to encourage young people to speak up when they see their friends doing things that are harmful such as distracted driving or suffering through depression or other mental issues. The conference will target youth 15-24 because that is the age group most at risk in our society. We will be speaking about both physical and mental health through our speakers and activities (P.A.R.T.Y. and M.A.S.C) as well as providing mandatory health and safety training for workers in Ontario. Our conference was extremely well received by the youth in attendance last year. We invite you to view some of the activities that took place which we have posted on our website, Facebook and Twitter page: Website: Facebook: Twitter: @JustSayItOttawa We hope you will join us this year in this very worthwhile cause. Please let me know if we can count on your involvement and support.
